"From this valley they say you are going,
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile,
For they say you are taking the sunshine
Which has brightened our pathways a while.
Come and sit by my side if you love me;
Do not hasten to bid me adieu,
But remember the Red River Valley,
And the girl that has loved you so true." Red River Valley folk song
Looking at this photo I once took in beautiful Prague, reminded me of this old sweet song my little girls used to play on the piano what now seems like ages ago. Wherever we were in the house, whatever we were doing, when the notes got to "Come and sit by my side if you love me", "Daddy" and I used to drop everything, literally everything, and rush to sit by our proud pianist at the piano bench. Our reward... the widest possible smile and the shiniest "I knew it" look. It never failed.
Ages ago... Even the piano bench is nostalgic. Where did the years go?
