The child in me smiles and rejoices
at this sight from its yesteryears.
It retastes the flavors,
Rekindles the melodies,
The excitement for beloved treats.
"Kaak, kaak, kaak, kaakiyyeh," the old man used to scream.
We would drop everything,
And sprint up to him
And our smiles and faces would beam.
Sweet'n happy memories of childhood,
Wish time would roll back, wish it could.
The old man his goodies in the carriage would bring,
And the daily refrain once again he would sing.
Wish the years could roll back, wish they would.
