The way back home

I made it to the iron gate at the end of the narrow winding country road. The bees and the butterflies greeted me. They asked about the happy marigolds the little girl used to lovingly nurse and water. They had longed to caress them and lose themselves in them. The birds had had the grapes dangling from the vines all to themselves long enough. They confessed they were eager to share again. They were lonely now. The stones lining the wide alleyway in front of the house inquired about the little ones who tirelessly played alongside them and leaned their bikes on them. They only hear echoes of their happy chirps and clumsy footsteps. The little wooden swing hung silently from the branches. It said it was grateful it could still slowdance with the breeze but yearned to the high swings and twirls of yesterdays. The trees leaned down, heavy with weight. They looked up at me, with melancholy in their eyes. Where are the little creatures that used to swiftly climb their branches and fill their woven baskets with their crops? I told them the little ones are little no more. They left on their own journey in this wide wide world. But not to worry, they missed them too. And unlike the little boy in the story who had dropped breadcrumbs on the path and could not find his way back, they had left pieces of their heart here and will always know their way back home... #aphotoaday #nostalgia #home#visionsofhome #yesteryears#simplepleasures #simplertimes#stories #storytelling #cycleoflife#motivationalquotes#inspirationalquotes #quoteoftheday#writersofinstagram #goodreads#goodvibes #thesoundofmyheart#livelovebeirut #livelovelebanon#the961 #lebanoninapicture#mylebanon #insta_lebanon #bestofleb#houston #htx #myfieldofflowers#myhappyplace
