Finding solace in my garden

She looked up at her flowering oleander tree and saw a shy tear forming at the corner of its eye. Is it a tear of joy or a tear of sadness, she wondered silently. Is her longtime beloved companion crying to see her in this state, with clipped wings and delayed dreams or is it happy she is alive, well and so much more fortunate than so many others? Her heart and mind whispered the answer to her in unison. Of course, how could she have even doubted it... Blessed indeed she was. Blessed indeed.
